“The ancient volcano, Mount Vesuvius, is a Cloud beast entrenched into the earth. Although calm, the 2,000 foot diameter crater fills with steam; a formidable, gasping lion. Once awakened, she erupts lava into an ominous sky, and the earth trembles with her great power.

SMOK TFV8 Build and Design

This tank is a beast in size with a diameter of 25mm and a height of 70mm, it sure isn’t a small tank and will be noticeable on your mod in your pocket.

The build quality is amazing and looks like a precision engineered piece of kit.  SMOK Have used an ultra-wide Delrin widebore drip tip with immense cooling properties and heat-spoofing capability during high wattage operational usage. The signature top-fill architecture is designed with a hinge-and-lock system without the need of threads and convenient refills for the staggering 6ml maximum juice capacity.

They have also widened the top fill cap hole compared to the TFV4 which is another great choice.

SMOK TFV8 Coils

SMOKTech has built a revolutionary system with an explicit focus on creating a powerful, high-caliber system with unparalleled cloud-chasing potential, starting with the patented Turbo Engines coil structure: featuring the V8-T8 (6.6T), V8-T6 (6.0T), V8-Q4 (5.0T), and the V8 RBA (4.0T-X).

The crowning achievement resides in the SMOK V8-T8, featuring an octuple design in vertical orientation and capable of firing up to a staggering 260W for absolutely massive vapor production. The V8 RBA rebuildable head integrates a massive 18mm build deck with a two-post, dual terminal design sitting on top of dual internal airslots, allowing for massive airflow in conjunction with the external airslots.

SMOK TFV8 Airflow

Airflow is fed into the atomizer chamber from dual massive airslots, with a precision airflow control ring to throttle and practically cool the system as a whole. The TFV8 adopts a highly effective chimney, increasing the spacious internal barrel for higher airflow efficiency, increasing area by 30% than the original TFV4 Tank.

SMOK TFV8 Flavour

The flavour for me was immense and can be compared to the UWELL Crown but one thing to note is that the SMOK TFV8 is at it’s best over 60w so bear this in mind if you only have a small -50w mod.

Our Verdict

The SMOK TFV8 is a truly impressing e-Cig tank and is a good improvement over the TFV4, if you own a TFV4 then this tank is a worthy upgrade. The only thing worth noting is that it is for mods over 60w and that’s where you will get the best performance.

The TFV8 however does drink Juice like a BMW Brutus so also bear this in mind as you will notice you will be using more eLiquid.

Probably the best tank on the market at the moment – even eclipsing the Uwell crown. Superb clouds and flavour but a couple of bits of advice for anyone starting out with this…. Firstly, these coils are HUGE and you will burn them out immediately unless you correctly prime them. To do this -drip juice onto the cotton until it’s saturated then fill the tank and assemble. LEAVE THIS TO SOAK OVERNIGHT – A MINIMUM OF SIX HOURS. Then spend HALF AN HOUR slowly taking short, quick draws beginning at 30 watts and building up to 75 watts, taking breaks to let the tank cool down, occasionally taking a draw without hitting the fire button. This breaks the coil in gently. I know it’s fiddly but it’s worth it – your cool will last two weeks this way rather than two days. People already complaining that the coils burn out too quick. What do you expect if you fill the tank, leave it for three minutes, then fire it up at over 100 watts?!

Secondly, just because it says you can go over 200 watts doesn’t mean you have to. 80 watts for me is perfect with the octuple coils using Pebble Donut juice…

When I saw YouTube videos of the incredible clouds from this tank while researching which tank to go with my new 200 watt Reuleaux, I had to try it. It was also one of the only tanks that would let me max out my wattage and still have room for more. Why have 200 watts if all my tanks started burning up by 80? Upon receiving my beast I was a little skeptical. I figured my experience would be nothing like the crazy videos. Something would be wrong or it just wouldn’t live up to the hype. With that state of mind I began vaping at just 50 watts using the T8 octuple coil head. This coil suggests 120 to 180 watts for “Best” but lists 50 to 260 as working range. At 50 watts I got about the same quantity of vapor that my better hits with my previous favorites, an Arctic and Uwell Crown. I moved up slowly by 15 watts and things started getting.good. At 95 I was thoroughly impressed but as I was about to.find out, I hadnt even warmed this pyppy up yet. At about 120 it started to kick in and began making a most agreeable purr and.I got clouds that I couldn’t believe. Then the laughing started. I couldn’t help myself! I kept going, up past 180 to full max 200 watts. I was laughing like a mad man as the clouds just got thicker. By the time I had to stop my whole living room was a haze as was my head. If you can appreciate the joy.of huge clouds you just have to try this tank!

All around fantastic tank. The one concern I have is that the hinge pin for the fill cap seems a little loose. Whether it will become an actual issue is yet to be seen. RBA deck is just as big as the massive coil heads. Easy to build on. Installed coils took way too long to heat up for me. The flavor is just amazing. I honestly taste almost nothing from my crown compared to the TFV8. And, if your using it as your daily driver, and not cranking up the power too crazy, its really no more a juice hog than my crown. Proportional to its larger tank of course. You will not be disappointed by this tank.

This is an awesome tank. The coils are awesome as long you keep juice in it you’ll never have a dry hit. I’ve had a couple minor issues with mine but nothing to keep me from buying another for a spare. I’ve used the stock RBA coils and mine are at .3 ohm’s on my kbox 200w and vape around 70 to 75w. I noticed I cracked my tank the plexi one and put the glass one on no problem. The top fill o ring the white one I have some minor dmg with mine. I suggest not using the glass dropper most juice comes with I think thats how I damaged my o ring. My replacement o ring is to thick for the top fill section to close. I cant put this tank down but man does it suck the juice

This tank might go through juice fairly quick if you’re chain vaping BUT the flavor is amazing and the clouds are MASSIVE. If you have any leaking issues, make sure the atomizer is completely screwed in to the top section of the tank before putting it back together. Haven’t had an issue since the first vape. It’s a lot more snug on the top than the TFV4 and the rubber is a lot more durable – doesn’t slide around either. Excellent airflow as well.
