Very similar vapor
First up -- vapor quality. Both the Mighty+ and Crafty+ boast trademark Storz & Bickel vapor quality with relaxed, open airflow. It starts out with mostly convection heating, for clean, present flavors, and slowly warms up, bringing conduction heating in later for a full, deep extraction. It's efficient, tasty, and satisfying, and both the Mighty+ vaporizer and Crafty+ offer an almost identical vaping experience.
The cooling units have a similar design with identical mouthpieces, but the Mighty’s slightly larger top piece means better cooling. You’d probably only notice the difference side by side, or at hotter temperatures over a series of sessions.
Size in numbers
The most obvious difference between the Crafty+ and Mighty+ vaporizers is size. Each sport medical-grade components, but the Mighty+ dry herb vape is much taller and wider than the Crafty+ and slightly heavier.

Each one is light and durable
Don’t worry too much if it these vapes take a light fall or tumble. They’re built to take a beating while maintaining a light, but sturdy build quality. They feature medical-grade components and have been thoroughly tested to produce safe, pure results.
Mighty+ is UL Certified
The Mighty+ is the first and currently the only dry herb vaporizer to receive UL certification. Its electrical, battery, charging, and heating systems have passed third-party safety inspections and tests. For medicinal users, this is a huge plus.
Pocketable or portable
The difference between the two becomes clear when you try to fit the Mighty+ vaporizer in your pocket -- unless you have cargo pants, it's unlikely to fit. It's easy to throw in a bag or a purse, but pulling it out in public is still likely to draw attention. If you're often on the go, the Crafty+ easily sneaks into pockets and hides in your palm during use.
Sitting or standing
Also of note, the Crafty’s flat bottom lets it stand straight up while you load it. The Mighty’s rounded bottom won’t stand up on its own, so you’ll have to turn the multi-tool around to prop it up, or use a third-party stand. It makes the Crafty Plus a bit easier to load, and some users prefer having it sit upright for easier use. Both vaporizers include an easy loading tool that lets you store ground herbs and fill your oven without any mess.
Big battery life difference
Battery life is drastically different between the Mighty+ and Crafty+. The Mighty+ gets nearly twice as many sessions on a single charge.
Crafty+ gets around 4 to 5 sessions
You can expect around 4 to 5 sessions on the Crafty+’s full battery. It’s a big downside for the Crafty+, but as long as you remember to charge it, you’ll have enough battery power for a handful of sessions.
Mighty+ gets 8 to 10 sessions
A larger vaporizer means more battery life, and dual lithium-ion batteries deliver almost twice the Crafty+’s vaporizing time. You can expect eight to ten sessions on a single charge.
Both have USB-C charging
Instead of micro-USB and barrel ports, both vaporizers are rechargeable via a Type C USB cable. They work with external battery packs and feature pass-through charging, so you can keep vaping when the battery is dead, but a cable is handy. The Crafty+ charges faster with a two-hour fill-up time versus the Mighty+’s three hours. Or you can grab the Supercharger power adapter for the Mighty+ and cut the charge times down to under an hour.
On-Board or smartphone controls
**On November 15th, 2019, Apple removed all vaporizing apps from its app store, including this Storz & Bickel app. In the summer of 2020, Storz & Bickel released a web app to replace the smartphone app for iPhone, mac and pc users. Might+ has full, on-board controls
The Mighty+ features full digital temperature controls, haptic feedback, Superbooster mode, and an auto-shutoff timer, but it's how you control those features that set them apart. The Mighty vapes shine with convenience and ease of use thanks to its clearly labeled buttons and a simple, intuitive (LED) display. We prefer having all of our controls readily available, and the Mighty+ fits that profile.
Crafty+ has preset controls & a Bluetooth app
On the other hand, the Crafty+ comes out of the box with a preset temperature range, boost modes that compliment each other perfectly, and a single power button. If you want to tweak these three temperature settings, you’ll need to connect the Bluetooth app, but we found the on-board temperatures to be perfect for almost all of our vaping.
If the app isn’t connected, you can track the temperature through a light on the Crafty+'s base, which is red when heating, then turns green and buzzes when ready. It’s not as clear as the Mighty’s LED display, but it’s an easy-to-understand system.
The Crafty+'s control scheme allows for more control over the auto shutoff, LED brightness, and provides some usage stats through the app, but the Mighty's just works, and it doesn't need any extra pieces.
Both have slow heat-up times
Both portable vapes fall behind the competition when it comes to heat-up time. On a full charge, they both take at least a minute to reach temperature, depending on the temperature selected. Most modern vaporizers can heat up in 30-60 seconds, with a few clocking in at under ten seconds.
The Storz and Bickel vaporizers take a different approach, with large heat exchangers that slowly come up to heat, and hold it well. They aren’t great for a quick hit, but they hold temperature well, even during intense draws, and can keep up with or without a grinder.
Crafty+ takes around 80 seconds
The Crafty+ is the slowest of the two with an average heat-up time of 80 seconds. With a drained battery, heat-up times can take up to two minutes, so make sure you have your charger ready to go just in case.
Mighty+ takes around 60 seconds
Vapor from the Mighty+ is ready to go in around 60 seconds. This is nothing spectacular but it’s ahead of the Crafty+. We feel like the quality is worth the wait when you’re looking for a relaxed session - it’s only 30 more seconds to stellar vapor.

Crafty+ is better for travel
The Crafty+ vaporizer is the more pocketable of the two, so it’s the right choice if you're often hitting the town with an oven in your pocket, and you still want some of the best vapor quality available. It’s still not the most portable option, as conduction vaporizers like the PAX Plus or XMAX Starry are more pocketable, have better battery life, and heat up faster.

Both are top-shelf vaporizers
Regardless of which vaporizer you choose, both options provide a top-shelf vaping experience. These vapes have a reputation for being some of the absolute best in the industry and lead the way in consistency, reliability, and overall quality. These vapes come with a premium price tag but are worth every penny.
What about the original Mighty vaporizer?
The original Mighty paved the way for modern vaporizers and is still considered an industry leader today. It produces the same high-quality vapor and is just as consistent and reliable as the Mighty+. It doesn’t have the updated features and falls short in a few areas but it still delivers top-notch performance.
Vapor quality is the same
Vapor from the original Mighty is the exact same as the Mighy+. They utilize the same internals and electronics and produce the same, high-quality experience, just as the Crafty+ does. You won’t notice a difference in vapor quality between the different models.

Final thoughts
Instead of trying to draw comparisons between the two products, it's better to understand they both bring something different to the table. They’re different enough that, if you’ve got the cash to spend, you might even consider both. It’s an expensive proposition to be sure, but it would mean you have a vaporizer for home, one for on-the-go, and dosing capsules to share between them.
If you’re leaning towards the Mighty+ but want something a little cheaper, consider the original Mighty. It’s only $70 more than the Crafty+ and its performance is about on par with the latest Mighty+, minus a few key features.
